I am looking at a professional custom build on one of these. I have all the geometry from my current and previous drop bar bikes and a 54 Stigmata is towards the smaller end of the range and the 56 would be at the top of the range, just, based largely on ETT, reach and to a lesser importance, stand over.
Anyone riding the current geo and have and views and numbers ?
I am 5’9.5”, short legs at 31”. My other bikes are/have all been medium (so generally 54) - Topstone, Synapse, Creo SL, Fugio, CDF, Defy.
Thanks
Sorry, can't help on sizing, but I've nearly bought a Stiggy a few times over the past couple of years.
Are you getting a good deal on the frame? It's surely due an update as, apart from colours, it's been out for several years now.
They are very old school road/CX geometry but I'm guessing that's why your looking at one. Sizing wise I generally ride a 56cm and have ridden a 56 stigmata and it was pretty much spot on
Is this some sort of special bike for Easter? 😂
Thanks for feedback. I’ve had an itch for one for a while, and a pay rise can now enable it. Not really sure yet tho, I have a couple of nice road bikes (Synapse carbon Ultegra and a carbon Creo SL, both di2) and a 2022 Topstone Lefty 3, so this, if I went ahead would fit into a pretty narrow niche.
I may well spend the money on a family holiday instead 😁
ianc - make sure you get a good deal on a Stigmata because as Stanley mentions above, there will be a revised Stigmata released this year so prices on current models should reflect that.
Also just to mention if you haven't seen it - if you currently buy a Stigmata CC frame via Stif there'll give you a pair of Reserve Carbon 35 Dt Swiss 350 wheels for free!! (Rrp for the Reserve Carbon wheels is £1299). Quite an incredible deal!
^^ good to know, thanks, think I’ll sit tight for now as in no rush and see what’s about later in the year.
That deal with the Reserve wheels is a bargain. Then, later this year, the frame might break and you would end up with the latest model as a replacement. Probably.
I borrowed a (bike-shop owning) mate's 56cm Stig a few months back. I'm 5'10"/32" ISL. Reach and stack were almost identical to my medium Fugio (bearing in mind the Fugio is a conventional external headset so "actual" stack is somewhat taller.
It rode beautifully, no doubt aided by the full pimp Reserve wheels, Hope RX bits and pieces and AXS shifting. However the fly in the ointment was that standover was very marginal indeed and there wouldn't have been room for a dropper.
If your gravel is "dirtyroady" then a 54 would work and be lovely, but if you're more "gnarvel/shit90smtb", then a Stig is probably a bit compromised. I've gone for a Salsa Warbird in the end which had its first proper ride today. 10mm longer TT, 25mm shorter ST. So far, so fast as f***
Thanks, I reckon the 56 would be too compromised on stand over and the 54 too close in best use to my Topstone. Will sit tight for now, thanks for thoughts.
The wheel deal looks good but I would wait for the new model.
I had a Stigmata 3 years ago (effectively the current model). It was OK but not special.
I have a Santa Cruz Bronson and have had a few of their full suspension bikes. I rate them very highly as a brand, and their warranty and quality are outstanding.
But the Stigmata is a bit middle of the road in terms of performance and geometry. Not bad, don’t get me wrong, but just nothing special.
I could reasonably argue that the full sussers are expensive but good value, but the Stigmata is verging on being just plain old expensive for what you get.
For the money you could get something special in steel and still have change (Fairlight, Mason etc), but if you really want carbon I would personally either wait to see what the new model brings or look elsewhere (Open, S Works etc).
^^^ thanks, yes, coming to that conclusion now too. Jolly useful place this ! 🙂
When I read they were giving out a free carbon wheelset I went for a look - £2500 just for the frame, and £4500 for a Rival spec.
Bonkers money.
I have no skin in the game as I don’t own a Stigmata but I had been looking at one a while ago, slightly baffled by

as yes, they’re expensive for a frame, but have you looked how much and SWorks Crux franeset costs? It’s nearly £4.5k frame only!! Now, that’s ridiculous IMO. They’re OK value I think as frameset, at least you’re getting a lifetime warranty on them.
And a Mason steel frame (and carbon fork) is going to cost you £2150.
I'd buy the Exposure 🙂
