[Closed] Stiff, Light and Cheap XC Shoes.....

After many years of good service my Diadorra Chilli's have finally been consigned to the bin.

These were awesome shoes and were probably the oldest bit of cycling kit I own. Worked perfectly with Egg beaters on the "Race" bike but could be worn all day.

What is the go to XC shoe for the STW massive these days, don't want to spend a fortune as they only get an occasional outing.

So Ideally light, stiff, cheap, comfortable....... suppose its perm three from four of those!

Cheers

Another vote for Shimano shoes. Careful with sizing, they tend to come up small but apart from that amazing VFM.

Spec or Shimano? Hit the big boys for VFM normally

I got some northwave things cheap on crc a few years ago. They seem to do the job.

If you're looking for size 47 I've got some carbon soled DMTs that I've barely worn as they're a wee bit too big. They're pretty light.

I've got some specialized carbon expert something or other that I've not used since going to flats. Size 44 off the top of my head.

Another vote for the XC7. I'm usually a size 12 UK, so went for a 48 Euro and the fit is spot on.

I also have some Northwave Raptor GTX in 48 (lot more room in those). Sizing in Northwave seem to be bigger than Shimano.

Onzadog..... size 44 could be spot on, speccy road shoes are 43 and 44 so 44 mtb shoes should be good.

Got any pics / details?
