[#3461248]

My reverb has started playing up. Having previously been smooth as butter, it is now refusing to go down, unless I give it a really hard shove, and then on the way up it sticks about an inch before the top and then goes up slowly. I havent attempted to even look at it yet., I just wonder if anyone has any experience here...

Have you tightened up your seatclamp a bit too much?

There's a 2 year warranty on them. I'd get it back to your dealer and get them to return it for repair.

Mine was turned around the same day - excellent service!

First clean the inner post and wipe it over with the 2.5wt oil that came with the post and pump it up and down. Then try loosening the seat clamp a tiny bit. Next, try turning the speed control knob all the way from + to - and pumping the seat up and down. Next is a full bleed.
If none of that works it's back to http://www.fisheroutdoor.co.uk/fisheroutdoor.html
usually via your supplying dealer.

what torque is your seat clamp set at? this is critical for the Reverb

once you go beyond the recommended 5nm and into the 7-9+nm range you can retard the free movement of the seatpost

are you using carbon fibre installation paste on your seat tube (or grease)? are you using a torque wrench on the seat clamp bolt (or an allen key)?

have you tried bleeding the post using the supplied kit?

I always dose my Reverb's seal with Finish Line Dry Lube spray after cleaning, pump the post a few times, wipe off the dirt and then apply Fork Juicy spray to the seal and pump the post to lubricate the stanchion and wiper seal surfaces

things to consider before going for a warranty claim

Have bled, and cleaned and lubed. Set the torque to 5nm (limit is actually 6.7, although I actually think mine was less than this normally). Still notchy/sticky.
What I have found is that if the post is fully inserted and has no clamp pressure its as smooth as silk, apply any pressure from the seat clamp (even 3nm)and its notchy.. Bum.
