Changing the bearings in the freehub as the olds ones were a bit crunchy (in retrospect should have left them alone).

New bearings in, but the freehub is not rotating very freely, gets worse when you put on the endcap on the freehub side, crank rotates with the wheel a bit. Can backpedal but it's not optimal.

I did manage to scar one of the spacer rings inside the hub in the process, but polished it down.

Hand it off to the LBS?

Did you remember to put the wee spacer that goes on the axle before the freehub and sits against the hub bearing (11 in the hope diagram)? Has the seal ring (no 3) been pressed in correctly?

I forgot to use the search function, it was the indeed seal not being seated correctly (hard to do with the cassette on!). I cleaned it and the hub body up, greased it and got it to seal by using a crewdriver, there was an audible pop when it did.

This might also explain why the drive side bearing wore out and the non drive side is totally fine.
