I just cycled past a cyclist on the road who was carrying a fairly long stick in his right hand, as an extension of his handlebars. There was also a line of traffic behind him, and I realised the connection between the stick and car drivers clearly giving him enough space..... What a great idea! If I did any more road cycling than I do, I would adopt this technique. Anyone else seen this/do this?

Yep, it sad when drivers give you more room if they think their vehicle might get scratched!
You can get these and they do work, but just look a bit crap.

No but they do do an evo stick version like every other bloody thing.
This comes in either Ti or carbon fiber.
The mountain bike specific one is three and a half grand... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sounds like a sure fire recipe for fights whilst riding.
