I have a new rd frame I would like the same fit as my cx bike.
my cx bike has a total of 160mm below the stem. the stem is 6 degree
now I would like my road bike to have a -6 negative - do I need more spacers below the stem to get the same position?

That'll depend entirely on whether the head tube is longer (then maybe), or shorter/the same length (then yes).

Then you'll need more spacers.

Surely, there's no point in putting more spacers in to counteract the negative rise of the stem.
Or is it just that you like the look of a negative stem?
