[#6545968]

Throw some thoughts on the steel fork of choice.
I've a 26 simple and want corrected forks. 445mm is just too twitchy for me.
I'm torn between 2 sets of 29ers ie salsa promoto grande (468 with 20mm Maxle) or Niner 853.
Whaddaya recon?

Singular's Swift fork is all but identical to the Niner...and a third of the price. 😕
I can't say the Niner rides any betterer.

445mm is suspension corrected for 26" wheels.

"445mm is suspension corrected for 26" wheels"
Yes but for 100mm forks.

IIRC the simple was 100-130mm forks, so the op looking for forks upto 30mm higher than this would seem logical

Thanks for your comments
As it happens I've already sprayed black and fitted some niners and they ride lovely.
I got offered some salsas and couldn't resist cos they have the 20mm Maxle.
Weight and geometry wise, they're almost identical.
So, I best offer them for sale and see which goes first 🙂
