The last drop was rollable, but better to jump

If I hopped off and gingerly lowered my bike down the slope- I reckon I need to make up the circa extra 3 seconds earlier on in the track ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

First couple of times I rolled it but launch off the top now ,it's only a matter of getting your head round it. The Peaty drop 30 foot or so to the left of it is a complete other ball game and something I can't see myself doing ever.

I've seen you ride Roych Clough and Jacob's Ladder which are both definitely harder. It's an easy roll, seriously!

Yeah Peaty's Drop is proper mental! Saw a lad go off it on a Lapierre Froggy, he landed it but then went off the edge of the landing... I thought there was going to be an ambulance, but amazingly he was ok.

If you click on the "view entrants" link on the original entry page it shows you who is entered - I think it takes a while to get updated though - looks like they're working their way down the list.

Fingers crossed ....

That was the most stressful thing I've done in ages ๐Ÿ˜‰ not helped by having the cat climbing all over me.

Had to put some nice calming music on!

Black Hemlock or a green Mmbop, depending what's built. Most likely the Hemlock. With pink bars.

Oh just look out for the slowest man on the track ๐Ÿ˜€

I've bailed this year :(.

TBH I've only been riding MTB for a few weeks after a 20 year break and just feel I need more time riding before entering.

Plus, didn't want to take the place off someone who would actually enjoy it!

I will be riding the trails plenty over the next 12 months though and will definitely be entering next year.

Will be there as a spectator though...

Cheers

That's fair enough mate! Come down and enjoy the atmosphere, and don't laugh too much when I get over exuberant and crash ๐Ÿ˜‰

Isn't the whole concept of mountain bike racing essentially irresponsible?

In a good way, obviously.

i'll be raving it up with a whistle, and a hi-viz gillet, making sure that you can all crash as hard as you like, safe in the knowledge that a man with no medical training at all will be waving a flag and whistling.

no-one died on my watch last year, so you know you're in safe hands.

awhiles - you've clearly never seen me ride! I'll either a) be mincing down epically or b) throwing caution to the wind, forgetting my lack of skills and bouncing my way down on my head.

Could go either way...

Managed to get a Vets slot and got my son in on the Youths!!

Should be a cracking event. I'll be doing it on the Heckler and he's doing it on the GT force.

Need to order the body armour now ???? ๐Ÿ™‚

@dogthomson - I don't know the trails all too well yet, learning them myself at the moment.

More than happy to go riding that side with you though - drop me an email to a_personAToutlookDOTcom.

Cheers

Trying to get a friend to sign up in ladies, but she's skiing on France so has limited internets at the moment. She's definitely up for it though
