[Closed] Steel chain ring problem?

[#1287178]

Just bought some drive train stuff. I've replaced the previous steel middle chainring with a Shimano steel chainring, new chain, new cassette.

The chain seems to be coming in from the lowest gear onto the chainring at more of a jaunty angle than I'm used to.

I have made sure I haven't put it on the wrong way round but it sounds like its grinding on the chainring. Is it a case of letting it wear in as the previous steel chainring had been on for years and I may have forgotten what that one sounded like at first?

Nothing needs to 'wear in'.

Got any pics?

It is a bit blurred.

It is a middle ring aint it? Not a 40t outer jammed in or something?

Does everything line up/work in the big and granny rings?

Ok, i've put the original chainring back on and its a hell of a lot better.

Ordered the Right manufacturer, wrong chainring by the looks of it. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Thanks Gents.
