Stanton Sherpa mk2 swapouts - QR135 & sliding

[#12505194]

Like many others I went for a Stanton Sherpa for the versatility of the different swapouts (and its other strengths). It’s pretty annoying they’re not produced anymore, getting hold of any seems impossible.

Does anyone have any spare QR135 or sliding swapouts/dropouts for a mk2 Sherpa they’d like to sell?

I did speak to Stanton about 6 months ago about sliding dropouts), there was a suggestion that they may produce them again, but I’ve not been able to get any more info since.

Very poor from Stanton.

My plan b is to get a local machine shop to make some.
We'd need a template though.

Yeah thinking the same, i have a machinist friend who could help if he had something to work from.
I have been trying to spark up a conversation with staton, would like to suggest they open source the designs, don’t really see any reason not to at this point..

I was looking at a Sherpa more than two years ago and asked them about the SS dropouts and go the same non-committal answer about maybe they could start making some again. Clearly nothing has changed in all that time so I wouldn't hold your breath

I also bought a Mk2 Sherpa frame because I wanted to be able to run it singlespeed and emailed Stanton several times over 2 years ago about the singlespeed dropouts with the same vague reply. I also suggested they send the drop out drawing to BETD to make some up for them but nothing seems to have happened.

I understand that there were complaints about the lack of length and adjustment for the singlespeed drop outs, although some people made them work ok with bolt up hubs and there was some discussion about redesigning them for the future. Again though no further update.

I think its very poor that Stanton dont carry the spares for their legacy frames and as much as I do think my Sherpa is the perfect steel hardtail for me, and Dan Stanton has been brilliant answering questions, I wouldn't buy another frame or bike from them because of this.

If anyone is getting some made up please do PM me? Thanks

I may be mistaken but I think the Gen3 was originally sold as QR and SS compatible in addition to Boost-Thru and non Boost Thru but I can't see that on their site any more. Such a shame as I too would have snapped up a Sherpa if they actually made sliding SS droupouts

Had a chat with stanton today, sounds like they are looking to outsource to BETD or Works Manufacturing, or preferably start in house again to support legacy frames (which they ‘endeavour to never stop doing’, good to hear).. but other pressures, supply issues, etc mean it may not happen very soon.
If it happens I’ll be grabbing at least one set of both 135 and SS. My rolhoff wheel is gathering dust.
I guess there’s just a handful of us, but if anyone else is keen, maybe lodge that in this thread, it might help move things along..

A bought a mkII frame a few few year's ago partly on the strength of the swappable dropouts. Got told similar to above so very much wouldn't hold your breath.

A bit concerning to be riding what is a fairly expensive frame that could be written off by a bent hanger.

Then there's QC issues and lack of giving info on delivery times.

I'm assuming the mech hanger is different to the mk 1 frame. Because I've found a source for them.

That is really shocking. I have been looking at Stanton Sherpa very closely and want to get the mk3, but if support stops on the custom bits then no way will I invest £2000 in a ti frame that could be written off so easily and is supposed to be versatile but blatantly won't be when parts are stopped being made
