Doing the London to Brighton this year, so am putting slicks on my bike for the first time. On the tyres I have got, it says to ensure that you have decent rim tape, and as the tape on my wheels is looking past its best I thought I would change it.
I've got a roll of Stans tape leftover from another set of wheels, so can you use this with high pressure skinny tubes & tyres, or should I get some conventional rim tape?

I don't see that the rim tape should make a huge difference, so Stans should be more than adequate for your needs. Heck, if it can hold air in when going ghetto tubeless, holding a tube in shouldn't be beyond it, right?

I was more worried about it not offering as much protection from the eyelet holes etc than standard rim tape.
