Hi all

Moving to Brighton soon and wondering what Stanmer is like for riding. Are the trails clearly marked or do you have to kind of work it for yourself?

Looking for somewhere to ride after work hence asking.

There's a brightonmtb Facebook page and a Brightonmtb.org website.

Both good places to find when rides are happening and ask for advice.

There's two rides a week organised by the group Tuesdays for faster riding, Thursdays a little more relaxed between stretches of singletrack.

You need a guide to string a decent ride together really, there's no trail marking as they're all cheeky (but tolerated).

I'm told the Brighton MTB guys do a great ride and they've certainly cut some great trails.

I'm an anti social git though, I just ride there and work it out as I go.

Both options can work, it just depends on you

I was shown a few bits and bobs last weekend ,as part of a larger xc ride.
I thought it was good fun. South Downs are great ,lucky you.

It's brilliant, right now, it's double brilliant, bone dry and loads of leaves to slide around on.
