It opens at midday for registration, but it happily took my payment now and sent me an email that I'm registered.

As usual don't hang around. It'll probably fill quickly.

Combine single speeders with Irish, and what do you expect? 🙂

On their FaceBook - SSWC 2011 Saturday 27th August, Ballyhoura, Ireland

Exactly the same here - reads "Please contact the merchant whose goods or services you are purchasing and give the error message below.

Error 501
This transaction (78) has already been processed! If you feel this is incorrect please contact the merchant!"

Hmm, confused - I either haven't paid at all or I have blown a wad of cash on at least 6 entries that I can hand out as late Christmas presents......

Ferry Holyhead to Dublin is in the region of £300, if anyone knows of anything cheaper then lets share!

£300 for a ferry is a sight cheaper than 20 entries as ability to make payment is clearly directly related to ability to negotiate anything with a steeper gradient than 2% 😳

We always seem to get cheaper quotes going Liverpool > Dublin

It is a Bank hol weekend though

I also think Irish Ferries take Tesco vouchers 3:1

Last year Markenduro and I went by rail. He was charged about £50 return from Burton to Dublin for train & ferry. We then did a cycle tour from there.

Ferries are blimmin' expensive, I can get them half price and still find it pricy. Will probably take the ferry / train again. My folks are all in the area for my cousin's ordination the weekend before so can get bits transferred by them. Might just hire a car for a couple of days.

I have received a mail saying:

'Thank you for registering for SSWC 2011 IRELAND. We look forward to welcoming you to the land of Guinness and Leprechauns.'

That does mean my entry has been accepted doesn't it?

So close yet so far. Might opt for the euros instead and I used to live in Belgium so its a bit easier to sort too

If people don't fancy the train and ferry to Dublin or Rosslare then look at fly/drive. Again, usually cheaper than the ferry ( it is the summer holidays and BH in the UK) and split the cost of the car.
