We were still on our first.

We were wondering where you'd got to. Did you stay at the beer stop a long time?

Until there was no beer left. ๐Ÿ˜†

Then had a nice bimble back and stoped to chat to all the marshals.

I can concur they stopped at our Marshal Point (number 14, I wish Dan a speedy recovery) and then spent the next ten minutes arguing who was going to go first!

Sort of.

Hi IGM, you weren't the last people round as the one poor chap who arrived late went round with the course closure marshalls, Poor chap had arrived rather late!

BTW, I've got about 200 photos of you riders as you went past my marshall point, trouble is the numbering system was singletrackily shoddy and hardly any of the numbers are recognisable!!

I dunno if I'll have time to set up a Flickr account of such like but if anyone wants to host them I could always stick them on a dvd and post them to someone?

Igm you may of crossed the line last but:
We were the losers
You were racier than us as you did 2 laps to our drunken 1

Thanks to all those involved, great weekend dispite all the tryhards ๐Ÿ™‚
Big respect to the young lady who wasn't going to leave her bike unattended in the woods at the start, hope you took the walk of shame ๐Ÿ™‚

And I'm voting mrssinglespeedstu out of the knights as she's too good for us. Go get your own round table. ๐Ÿ™‚

Denied! I've been robbed.

Wait a minute the marshals had left a number of the stations before we got there - what time did he finish? (There is still hope)

They weren't supposed to have left their stations, we waited for you guys to come along as we were following your progress round the course on the radios.

Oh and I also have to concede that you and Mrs Sheldon did do two laps!

Now if this was F1 and I was Ferrari there would be a court case over that kind of thing.

'course if I was Ferrari I wouldn't be wandering round Dalby on a singlespeed, but...

Pepper's post not Sheldon's

Sorry Sheldon I just thought I saw the same double top tube and roughly the same colour

NO we were last

And I've just watched that vid, I was a little drunk :-0 MartinH beware next time I have my camera out, you will pay for posting that up ๐Ÿ™‚

No you were DNF, we were DFL

To finish last, last you have to finish (to misquote someone, maybe Murray Walker)

No undue hatred against useless tubes here - useless tube used to mean something different where I grew of course

Update on Andy (who was at the prizegiving with his arm in a sling after crashing on the rock drop). He's broken his wrist and is getting it re-set by a specialist tomorrow, then a month in cast.
Get well soon chief!

Cheers to the organisers, probably the best overall SSSUK I've been to. Was a great laugh, the course was perfect, food good, beer good, crowd great etc. Probably won't be sending my gran the photos of me on the rollapuluza machine though...

best race course I have ever seen, massive moooohassseeeve variety, i liked the bits of surrey, afan, and aviemore they nicked. They even copied the woods near my mum's where I learnt to ride offroad in the 70's.

Great weekend, apart from my nonintentional stack on the finish line after a sprint finish which has properly ****ed my shoulder up, serves me right for racing. Big thanks and well done to the organisers, nice and chilled event with no rules for a change

bungi decided to go off pieste on a particularly steep section ended up hanging onto a tree above a nasty drop

looked like fun...

Wildrnes - It was I! Hanging on to the edge of Crosscliffe for dear life (literally) until you came along and saved me. Cheers mate, I was well and truly stuck.
My first event and what a great weekend. My mates organised the event and I played bass with the band - Anyone got any band pics for our website? Made some lifelong friends and need counselling after associating with Charlie the Bike Monger! Roll on Wales.

Sheldona, Respect to the Knights of Niche and it was good of you to leave the king size Ryevitas behind after the cheese party. They went down well before the bike jousting started! I finished shortly after Amanda and was promptly presented with her card, something about sponsoring her at Mountain Mayhem, but for me it will be a lasting memory of the Knights of Niche!

Thanks to everyone who helped me out after my fall, especially the marshals, paramedics, ambulance crew, and Ian for getting my bike back to my car, and for winning me a new handlebar (for the best crash?).

I fell off after the boardwalk section, going down that rocky descent over the other side of the fireroad. Schoolboy error on a bit of trail I've ridden a number of times before. Over the handlebars, shoulder first into a load of rocks. There was some confusion about the injury cos the three fractures meant my shoulder swelled up a lot and my hand turned blue. Doc will decide in a couple of weeks whether the collar bone can be left or needs a plate putting in.

It was a good course, though, and I was enjoying myself up to the point where it all went wrong. Slightly disappointed that I didn't get a trip in the helicopter, but you can't have everything. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyone got any good suggestions on what to do for a minimum of six weeks without riding? I'm already bored. ๐Ÿ˜•

It did indeed rawk. the course was absolutely spot on. nice and techy in places, and fast and fun in others.
Top job to all involved and everyone riding.

Great first SSUK here!
Had heard lots but it exceeded expectations, especially on the course front.
I couldn't get out of race mentality on the day despite the hangover and I awarded myself first rider in baggies!
Thanks to all involved, hope the Kanye and Marley didn't piss too many people off....
