I'm after a bit of inspiration. I'm building up a 456 Summer Series with whatever I can find. So far I have the frame, Marzocchi Shivers up front, a front wheel of no particular merit, and a pair of riser bars and stem I had kicking about.

Anyone using one at the moment? And if so, how does it ride?

Having swapped all the stuff off my 456 to a MmmBop and retired my SS Cinder Cone.
I am planing a SS 456, but I only have a pair of 115mm Reba's left over after I sold shed loads of kit last year so mine will be at the twitchy end of the 456 scale.

Build won't be for a couple of weeks as I have an even more retro build for my Stepfather going on using a 1989 Pine Mountain frame as the base!!

Crap pic. Since been properly 1x9'd with a Superstar XCX chain device and On-One SS ring, Hope wheels and a Charge Spoon. Running 105mm MX Comps and its excellent like that but I think I'm going to remove the spacer and get them out to 120mm. Might just be perfect then!

I used to have a 456, but have now gone to a Scandal S/S.
It still may give you some inspiration! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Had this frame for 18 months - dont ride full suss anymore. SO much fun on this whether it be natural trails in the lakes , dales or peaks OR 7 stanes.
140 U Turn Sektors , Sylo AM 2.2 Double n Bash, Mavic 719(ghetto tubeless), On One 70mm Ultralight stem, Ragley Wiser bars, XT Shifters, Juicy Fives, Thomson Layback , Blackspire Stinger and On One Big Nose Saddle.
Blanked out the Yorkshire head badge - Cant have that on show over in sunny Lancs.[img] [/img]

I thought the idea of the summer season was nice relaxed head angle (and steering) using normal(ish) 100/120mm forks so your rebas should be fine.

Needs a chain and pedals. The saddle height needs checking too ๐Ÿ˜€
