I have a right hand shifter sRam x9 oldish version it's a trigger one but the orange indicator to say which gear you are in has stopped working.
It only stopped working when I messed with the Allen key hole directly underneath, however I can't get it back working again now.
It shifts fine, just the indicator has stopped - any ideas?

Take it apart. In long grass.

Is the shifter wedged on the disc lever , any tension on them can cause problems
