Can anybody tell me if the outer carbon plate is replaceable

Sorry yes, the outer carbon cage plate. I've just found somewhere to buy one so I guess the answer must be yes 🙂

Yes, Is a few different lengths.. Used to be some Carbon ones from China on ebay as well
