I know this is a common problem with the big lever not returning and pushing it. I have soaked it in gt85, it seemed to be returning ok so I put a new cable in, put it back on bike and it still not returning! I really can't afford a new one, I can barely afford a 2nd hand one, can anyone offer some advice?
The shifter was an ebay bargain....now I know why - but it did work a month or so!

What shifter? X9? Here is a strip down but it's not something a silly as the lever being slightly bent upwards and catching on the little lever is it?
