I have read a couple of useful threads here, but getting nowhere trying to fix it. Chain slack, caused by accidental cage lock, but will not release - should it look like this - see detail image below (after cleaning & still no success).
That looks broken to me, like the button mechanism had popped out of its mounting in the derailleur. Can you release the cage and push the whole thing back in?
NX ime doesn't last long, warranty it & buy a Shimano or posher SRAM
Thanks for looking folks. It’ll go back to shop this week - only 2 months old, but last couple of days on tough Exmoor tracks.
Yep, the locking pin looks like it has bust through its casing. Is the casing around the pin plastic on the NX?
I don't think the cage lock is on. Looks like the bolt that limits the forward throw (the silver nut) has been pulled into the cage lock 'bit' and that's why it won't come back out.
