I was going to pop into Evans tomorrow to pick up a gx groupset. I have a hope threaded bb with some sort of adaptor in it to fit my current SRAM crank.
However I see hope do a 30mm threaded bb, so I assume this would fit the SRAM bb30 crank? Which is a bigger spindle and therefore stiffer, so this sounds preferable?
Have I understood correctly. Evans unhelpfully don't state if their groupset is the gxp or bb30 version.
I believe the GX Eagle when bought as a groupset only comes with the GXP crank.
Separate crank options mite be different though!
Thanks,
Max
That's top information thank you. It will be easier and cheaper to stick with gxp then and this will satisfy my impulse purchasing decisions.
Queuing outside Evans Gatwick at 9am tomorrow then.
The bb30 cranks don't generally fit the hope 30mm BB as the crank axle is too narrow
That's interesting to know thanks. So in what scenario would a hope 30mm bb be used?
With Hope cranks......and Rotor 3d+/rex,Rf Cinch,FSA 386evo and some others it's too early to remember.Basically wide axled 30mm spindle chainsets.
