Sram dub bb alternatives for sram transmission?

Has anyone got a non sram dub bb for the new transmission?

after a few terribly wet rides and subsequent washes my sram dub bb is almost shot…. I keep buying them as they are relatively cheap but Id like something that I can service my self and the bearings last longer like in my frame

so running the new transmission stuff with a wide crank I’d need a bb that comes set and forget with the correct spacers and not me second guessing to get it right, the sram one comes with a diagram for every possible fitment including. Transmission with wide cranks

is there a good reasonably priced alternative a can just replace like for like inc spacers?

Hope 30mm BB with their dub adaptor (I think it might even be included with them nowadays)

Thanks I’ve looked at hope but no idea if they do the spacers to fit the new transmission cranks - it needs something like 7mm drive side so not sure how that figures on another branded bb

I’ll fire hope a email see what they say hopefully they can point me in the right direction so I can get something decent

drive side is 7.5mm spacer and 3mm non drive side so trying to figure out how that would work with a hope bb, do they supply enough spacers to cover this? The sram sub conversion for hope only seems to cover just a std crank not transmission cranks

somebody somewhere must have opted for a alternative to a sram bb 🙁

Whatever you do don’t buy an Uberbike one, they’re rubbish.

@razorrazoo yeah I’ll avoid I’d go hope or cane creek

@saccades so how did you fit it to your sram wide setup?

Bird are offering these as an option, so I assume they space correctly. Lifetime guarantee too

Might be worth checking with someone who stocks wheels manufacturing stuff - got one of their dub bbs just on normal dub cranks and so far they’ve outlasted a sram branded one and still rotate smoothly. I bought mine from Certini (specialized concept store)

I had a Wheels MF on mine. Wasn’t impressed with the bearing life tbh. Didn’t last any longer than the SRAM

Ive had surprisingly good luck with my DUB bottom bracket, the cost/benefit of a more expensive one doesnt work out for me.

I did have a praxis works one on my old bike and was very impressed with out that lasted.

My uberbike dub bb has done 1700 miles and is still smooth - and when the time comes I can just swap the bearings. Not exactly rubbish.

Had a look at the Nukeproof one looks good however it needs to be threaded in to the frame. No good for press fit.

It looks looks the press fit ones are even cheaper at CRC at the moment

I had a Nukeproof DUB BB in the bike for about 18 months, bought back when it was difficult to get any parts during COVID, which was longer than I thought it would last TBH, but it was totally knackered by then though. Gone back to SRAM. Other than CK, I haven't come across any non-OEM that lasts anywhere like you'd expect it to for the price they cost, so either start saving, or resign yourself to replacing them ever year or so. .

I’ve got an Uberbike one and it’s been good. Into second winter now. My sram one lasted about 3 months of wet riding before cranks wouldn’t turn.

Well I’ve ordered a hope one - you can now get an adapter to work with new sram transmission wide cranks so I’ve ordered it all

hopefully can withstand the uk winter and subsequent washing better than the sram ones and hopefully will fit well with the adapters
