Went to replenish my stocks (it's all I'll use now) and the site I normally buy from has gone. In2dust were the official importers I believe - anyone know the story?
Wiggle had run out and I had to resort to fleabay to get some at an inflated price.
Bummer.
Bugger, I've just started using it again and only have half a bottle left...
Edit: Just Riding Along might have a bottle left if you're quick 😉

Just bought the last bottle :-/
I've just started using this again but never sure how much to put on. I basically turn my chain white however this doesn't seem to last a whole ride. Am I doing it wrong?
IME, it needs to be left until it's absolutely dry and then it leaves the chain with that nice "new chain sticky" feeling and lasts pretty well.
Any alternatives for the short term?

Put it on the night before after wiping the chain down with a rag. You don't need more than a drop on each roller, in fact putting too much on will just have it caking up your jockey wheels/mech.
Any alternatives for the short term?
Smoove/Wickens and Soderstrom - bit more pricey, same principle, potentially longer lasting in these conditions.
I've left it till its totally clear and dry, usually over night or longer.
I love how clean everything is but if it could last a full ride that'd be better.
Figured if I wasn't putting enough on then that might be the issue.
I've bought a bottle of Green Oil wax as I was struggling to find Squirt but reading about it they are different kinds of wax that need different applications and aren't compatible. Not had chance to try it yet.
Squirt won't last a whole ride in wet conditions. Did you clean/degrease the chain thoroughly before the first application?
Yeah, much as I like it, Squirt is now my 'summer road bike only' lube of choice, on the basis that I'm not doing multi day rides etc. Basically need the bike back in the garage at the end of every day.
Also wouldn't be my choice for any rides where I think I'm going to be in prolonged wet conditions.
In fact, already beginning to wonder why I bothered buying any more! By the time my last half bottle is done it'll be back to usual Scottish wet lube only conditions...
Squirt have parted ways with In2Dust and got a new UK distributor who are currently setting up their new website.
At the moment, they're selling through Amazon until their site is running!
Smoove feels a lot like squirt but lasts longer and resists washing out a lot better as well.

I might give it a go then. I never understood the love for Squirt. Half a decent ride and it's gone. As for multi-day stuff, not a chance.
I never understood the love for Squirt.
Mine started when I tried it and my drivetrain genuinely felt smoother and shifted better, it was a definite improvement over my usual sparing application of Finish Line Green.
Recently it's just been because my usual sparing application of Finish Line Green just didn't seem sparing enough and my lovely new Ultegra groupset was getting pretty oily looking and picking up a lot of dust from the (temporarily) dry roads around here. I figured for the occasional ride I might do over 6 hours or so I'd just clean drivetrain, reapply finish line green, clean and re-apply Squirt after. It sounds laborious but those rides will be once a month which is about how often I clean the bike anyway...
Xcracer sell squirt.

That's my experience as well. Same same but better.
Used Squirt for last few summers on MTB and like it. Recently got some Smoove and agree with comments above - very similar but lasts longer. Whenever it’s wet I use Wickens and Soderstrom No 3, incl through the winter, when I find it cleaner and longer lasting than Rock n Roll Blue.
Unopened bottle of Squirt here if anyone wants it? What's it going for at the moment?
PM me. 😉
(Sorry mods)
Hi Guys, Squirt has a few internal changes and is transitioning from in2Dust to Squirt.co.uk. We are busy organising new supplies and new distribution outlets over the next few weeks. We will soon be up and running at full speed but there is a bit of admin we have to deal with along the way.
Right now we are selling online at Amazon, Ebay, Sigmasports and XC- racer, so you can still find us in the short term.
Longer term you will see a lot more of us as we will be at a lot more events, Bike shops, and continuing online too.
Keep in touch with our progress on facebook and instagram.
Happy Trails

Good to hear. Thanks for the update.
Hi, Squirt is 40% wax and 60% water. The water transports the wax into all parts of the chain then evaporates leaving a dry wax finish. Play with the amount you apply. Not enough and you will run dry. Too much and it will clump up a little around the Jockey wheels. Dont wipe it off, allow the water to evaporate and dry on. Get it right and on a MTB you can expect 70 -100km per application and a clean shiney chain. We have just been up in the Peaks and done 90KM on one application, (it was dry trails with the odd stream crossing) Hope that helps, Have a great weekend. James @ Squirt.
Good news cheers for the update.
Having tried loads of chain lubes from cheap and cheerful to eye watering I'll be sticking to squirt for anything other than my commuter.
With so many variables I don't think anyone has meaningful data on wear reduction. I'd hazard a guess that a chain with squirt washed off it is probably no worse off than one with grit caked on it with a thick normal oil. It's also a better basis for relubing when I'm back home as it doesn't need removing or messing about with nasty solvents.
Alternative - Chain Lubes - local ish to me. UK company. Comparing to Squirt as used previously - no better no worse.
My current bottle of squirt is getting very low, normally I’d buy another but tempted by that smoove stuff. Been using squirt all year round for a while now but like the sound of smoove
Has anyone else made the switch?
Yes. Works as well as Squirt but lasts longer, at least for my commute.
Should be available again now as Extra have picked up the UK distribution.
Smoove user here. Love it!
Not cheap but then I don't have to apply too often. So like Squirt, but lasts longer...
I seem to be in the minority in that I don’t think Smoove is any better, just cheaper. I’m going back to squirt in the future.
When I looked at the Smoove lube it seemed you needed to degrease the chain every time you reapplied whereas I just wipe the chain over before reapplying Squirt.
I’ve been using Smoove since last summer and it works really well, I don’t degrease after every application.. after every 2/3 I guess... but the applications are a week or so apart in winter where as with squirt when commuting through the winter I had to re-apply every other day.
Now it’s all dry I seem to get a couple of weeks commuting out of one Smoove application.
Worth the money in my opinion, have my whole family’s bikes using it now.
@avdave2, where did that suggestion come from? I've been using Smoove for a while and other than the initial full degrease, it's one of the easier set ups to clean.
Another Smoove fan here, I used to use and sell Squirt back when I had a shop, nice and clean but it used to clump up around the jockey wheels due to the lube not hanging on long enough.
Smoove on the other hand is much longer lasting and doesn't clump up, its also the smoothest lube I've ever ridden on, plenty of 5 star magazine reviews and good user reviews back this up.
Note to bike shops and online sellers, I sell loads of Smoove both in the UK and to loads of cold weather countries, Russia, Finland, Sweden, it goes on. Contact Cyclorise if you want to stock it.
Another Smoove fan here
Yes of course you are...
i sell loads of Smoove
@Onzadog - I recall reading in an early review and appeared to be the manufacturers instructions. I now see they do Smoove Prep for cleaning the chain before reapplying the lube so that would suggest they consider it if not necessary then preferable. However if it seems to work like Squirt and only needs the chain wiping over then I may give it a try.
Personally, I go for a more precise application than the instructions suggest but it works in winter peak slop so I'm sticking with it.
Yes, the chain does need to be thoroughly stripped first.
Then I put one drip on each roller and keep going around until I see a web forming on the inner plates only. Takes about 5 laps of the chain.
Once the chain has been loaded, I run it up and down the cassette to put side flex on the chain and work it between inner and outer plates. Then leave to dry overnight.
After a ride, if it needs it, the chain gets cleaned with a baby wipe, sometimes I squeeze them out so I don't get things too wet. Once dry, I add one link to each roller, work it in like before and let it dry.
Don't remember the last time it needed a deep clean when I'm using the above system.

Same as for Squirt so no more hassle than using that for the first time. I'll try it once my current bottle of Squirt runs out.
Couldnt get Squirt so tried Fenwicks professional and am really impressed. Probably wont go back
Get Smoooooove, way better than squirt.
Squirt is ok but after a long dusty ride, its noisy, and builds up a right layer of black gunk, sometimes around 11T causes chain to skip.
Worst lube i've used is whitelightning, one ride = RUINED
Purple extreme was next go to for many years, and is still a good winter lube, but from what i've found with smoove so far its lasted 5 rides, super quiet still, no trail dust sticking everywhere, so bottle should last a long time. I did white spirit the chain first though and clean cassette etc with bio degreaser.
