At least I think it's my cleats. I'm getting a mildly annoying squeek from the cleat/SPD area on my bikes. Should I be applying some form of grease or lube to either the cleat or the pedal? The bike is lovely and quiet otherwise and I'd like to eliminate this noise if possible.
drop a bit of oil around the cleat springs on the pedal (pivots)
I solved my squeak by dabbing a bit of grease under the nose and tail of the cleat.
It's so dry at the moment loads of things are squeaking.
I often get a squeak from the pedal seals when it's been as dry as it is at the moment. Drop of lube sorts it.
Is it from the cleat or is it the rubber around the cleat rubbing on the pedal?
My Shimano 'trail' shoes do this, as there's quite a lot of rubber around the cleat. It quite annoyed a bloke at the D2D last year who was behind me for a while; which cheered me up.
