Just finished building my new Mtb and on first ride I've found an annoying noise! The wheel spokes are squeaking/creaking! Is there a quick fix for this? The spokes are clean at the moment.

are they new wheels?

Could be just the spoke beds settling in but once it stops get them wheels checked for spoke tension as they may have slackened off a bit.

They aren't brand new wheels but maybe 100 miles old as off my old bike! They creaked on that too! I've tried grease and gt85 where they cross but still no good! Ahhh

I hope the grease comment was a joke.

Your spoke tension is too low, increase it.

Should I let a pro tighten them? Or is it a job I could do myself by tightening each spoke by say, half a turn? Built my last two bikes myself but never dealt with spokes!

I'd let someone with more experience of wheel building go over them, turning them into a 'crisp' shape is quite easy.

I've built and serviced hundreds of wheels. I'd say give retensioning a go. Go round the wheel and tighten say one or half a turn at a time.

Got a pair of hope xc on mavic 317's that do it.
Dale at Pines commented on the cheap black spokes that had rubbed and corroded on the point of crossing.
Once I have rode them for a few miles, qiuetness!
Guess its down to the corrosion being rubbed away.
Prefer stainless spokes, never had problems with them on other wheels.
