[#5118746]

is my saddle goosed? its a about 1year ish old, fizik gobi xm kium railed saddle, just recently its started creaking/squeaking when seated (naturally), its a fairly bit annoying i must say ๐Ÿ˜†

rest of the bike is completely silent, its disappears when standing climbing, so i know its not something else.....i cant really replicate the noise just by pushing down on it though?

is it just buggered or can i do something to stop it?

not heard of this before, and I've 3 (older) Gobi's, try removing it and cleaning the rails & seat post 'head' of grit, do the same on the seat post itself.

I have had that on one saddle , Like you say really annoying and it was frustrating to try find the problem. It wasn't the clamp or the bolt. After a while I tried spraying some lube into the rail insert fixings on the saddle moulding; that made it go away.

im wondering its a bit of play in the reverb head clamp maybe? although all the bolts are torqued up

i sprayed some muc off bike spray into the rail entry points and although it was silent on a 4 hour ride on saturday, it was back with avengence last night!

is there anything better to spray into it than bikespray? its defo the saddle or the head of the reverb, though i doubt the reverb clamp head has much to do with it as it did defo go away for that 4 hour ride after a quick spray of bike spray

Possibly daft question but are you sure it's the saddle and not a creaky seatpost?

I'd have the seatpost out and clean and re-grease the inside of the seat-tube before doing anything drastic.

yeah pretty sure, its a reverb (never had any issues with it before, used carbon paste on it, and torqued the collar up....doesnt budge, and its clened and greased too

im fairly positive its the seat itself, like mentioned above i cured it for 1 ride (long 4ish hour ride) with bike spray from muc off, but then i hosed it all down after that ride and cleaned the seat too to get the cack from under the saddle and low and behold its back again next ride....so ive obviously washed the lube/spray right off and the creak/squeaks come right back....

may try dripping some finish line wet in the rails and leaving upside down for a day, or try spraying some tf2 weldtite silicone lube in?

I've had 2 and they both moaned and wailed. Never found a solution, just put up with it as they are good saddles.

I found a spray of lube where the rails enter the nose of the saddle sorts the problem.

dibbs - by spray of lube do you just mean like gt85 or some actual chain lube?

I expect tractor grease or any lubricant will do. Vaseline? GT85? Squirt? Stans?

I have the same problem with my Gobi

Had same problem, find it a great perch but for the creak that starts at about a year old (have them on three bikes). Skirt of lube and don't be to zealous with the hose under the saddle when cleaning.

mt - sounds like thats my problem then, i give it a good old clean under the saddle (due to amount of mud), strangely it didnt do it when caked in mud, but as soon as ive started cleaning it, its started!

sounds like lube is the key then, bit of a pain doing it everyride or so, but i guess worth it as the saddles are pretty much amazing!

quick update - dripped some wet lube in the rail entry points, and also sprayed some gt85 spray into the entry points using the straw....ride was silent sqeaking wise from doing this, hopefully it will last more than one ride but at least i know how to cure it now
