Hi forum.
Thought I would treat myself to a cheeky wheel upgrade (Mavic XM819 UST 2013 on Hope Pro Evo 2 hubs) but having ordered everything online for collection on my next visit to the UK, I'm now in a quandary about spoke length.

Having originally used the Pro Wheel Builder spoke calculator to determine the spoke length, I have now had doubt cast on my choice having read various threads about 16 mm nipples. I'm totally confused by the DT Swiss spoke calculator and its associated help files as to whether I should add 4-5 mm to the rim size and then take off 3 mm because of the 16 mm nipples. ๐Ÿ™

Will any of you wheel building gurus out there spare me a few moments to calculate the exact spoke lengths I need.

buy the wheelpro pdf book - there's a deatiled explanation in there

I believe the quick answer is it depends on the brand of nipple (and I guess even that could all be trumped by how long the threaded section on your spokes is)
