Hi I am trying to rebuild a trashed rear wheel from an elderly Rockhopper Disc. The hub is a ShimanoFH M475 VIAM and is fine. The Mavic 139X Disc rim is dented beyond repair. I have tried to replace five broken spokes but used at least one which was too long and exploded when tightened. So two questions;
Will a Mavic XM 117 Disc Rim be a suitable replacement?
What length spokes will I need?( different spoke calculators are giving different answers and i've not done this before)
How did you manage to do the rim that bad?
Over confidence on the zig zag descent on the Corriearrack pass. Too many boulders + too much speed + too little skill = disaster.
What size are the spoke calc giving you?.
