Wondering if anyone has done this and what the logistics would be to get there.
Worth staying for longer than a weekend?
What is the route like? Have had a look at elevation profiles, but would be cool to know what the traffic is like and if there are any sections that are only accessible when the road is shut to normal traffic and so on.

Rode it maybe 20 years ago while we were doing a tour of southern Germany and Austria. I don't remember there being that much traffic. If I recall we flew into Munich and rode from there. It was a long old climb (I think I averaged about 6mph on the way up!!)and there was still loads of snow on the top so I had to put on almost every piece of clothing I had for the descent. Had to laugh at the reaction of the guests of the hotel we were booked in to as these filthy Brit cyclists trooped into their pristine Austrian hotel.
