Hey!

The 03/05 ran a 24" rear wheel, however you could get custom linkages from BETD and other places to take them upto a 26" back wheel, 06 bighits ran a 26" as standard.

As far as I know!

As kaesae says: 2006 onwards used a 26" rear.

And...
Around the time of the older Big Hits, when they were 24", the rear end setup was licensed out to Norco, as a 26" :

I know cos that's my bike and it has a specialised license sticker on it (from new), here:

Specialized licensed out their tech to a few companies including Turner and Intense.

Good old bikes, if you service them regularly and set them up right

That Norco could do with a few more tubes in the main triangle area though.

Could do with some more weight too, light as a feather it is...

I carry a block & tackle in case I fancy pulling a manual on it, it only adds a few percent in weight.

And, @Kaesae, service you say? What is this service thing you mention? โ—

I had a 2007 Big Hit and thought it was an anvil, but that Norco looks like it might be heavier to be fair.

@ex-pat when ever you buy a used fullsus frame you want to check a few things and then service them if needs be, primary two things are the shock and the pivot bearings.

Shock because it determines handling characteristics for the whole bike, if it doesn't work the bike will handle and ride like an angry donkey with wheels, EEE AAWW!

The bearings because it they are ****ed they will also compromise handling and stability, if they collapse the bike could be damaged or the rider injured.

Then I would also check the mech hanger and a few other things, basically make sure that you're getting the most out of your bike and that it's safe to ride ๐Ÿ˜€

I just think it's a waste too see all of these throw away bikes that could have years more use.

I checked the bearings on my new style bighit after 6 months, a few of them were beginning to stiffen, first ones I looked at were running dry so I opened em all up and regreased. Couldnt get at the inner FSR link ones though.

Scruff you should pack them with grease before you install them next time you service the frame, rust is the main cause of ware on MTB bearings, I just strippede my bikes and my friends bikes down every 12 to 18 months and repack the bearings with grease.
