Has anyone used the spesh storm controls before? If so how do you rate them? Also how do they size up, as most specialized tyres I've seen in the past seem to be quite large volume for their given size, compared to, say a maxxis.

Cheers

Used em last year (have some in the car also ready to fit) - very grippy!

I've got a pair of 1.8 Storm Controls for when it get's muddy, used them at a couple of races and I think they're pretty good, decent grip, tread clears well, not too heavy and don't even seem to be that slow rolling for a mud tyre.

Not really sure about the width, I think the 1.8 is what I'd expect it to be, definately wouldn't say they're particularly large volume, as mine are 1.8's they always seem skinny when first putting them on.

Seem a decent mud tyre only used it a little so far and not used other "mud" tyres to compare it too. Fairly big for a 2.0, light and £14 was what sold it for me.

Excellent winter tyre. All rounder. Only beaten by the Panaracer Trailrakers IMO and that's only for axle-deep gloop...

I've used Storm Control 1.8 for about 9 months, and am very reluctant to change them for the summer. They climb really well, and feel much more "precise".

Superb, sublime rear winter/tyre; size up honestly for a 2" tyre - I normally have 2.2/2.25". Will get another for next winter when the time comes, as last years is pretty worn!

Nice one, cheers for all the info. Usually run 2.35 swampthing which are pretty narrow for a 2.35, so I'd guess the storms wouldn't be too much thinner but quite a bit lighter?
Cheers again!
