Thinking of changing my "proper" road bike for something a bit more "hybrid" in the form of a 2015 Specialized Sirrus Expert. I'm only an occasional road rider and my current road bike is a bit full on race bike stylee so a bit over the top and not very comfortable. I fancy doing some more road miles this year but feeling a slightly more upright position and flat bars might be closer to the MTB fit and position that I'm more used to.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone have or have ridden a 2013 Sirrus? Specs look pretty good.
Cheers

Have a look at 'sportive' type bikes.
Not as aggressive as a race bike.
Usually longer head tube and shorter in the top tube for a more upright position.
You would still be looking at drop bars though but a more relaxed and less racy fit.
Sorry - I've no idea about the Sirrus
Yeah aware of the sportive style. I never use the drops though, only ever use the bar tops or hoods so thinking I might as well just have a flat bar. I converted my old road bike to a flat bar and I like it.
With the sportive bike though, having the higher front end means that if you did go on the drops you're not going as far down as on a racer so it gives you an option to drop a bit without being too far over.
But as you say you like the flat bar option, so probably stick with that and get something like it out of the box.
Can't help you with those though, sorry.
