Hope anyone can help. I have a Specialized Enduro Elite Carbon 650b 2017 and want to know if it will accept a coil? There seems to be a few 29ers with the coil but havent seen any 650b. Just early stages of looking at the minute as I havent had a coil before but from what I've read they are supposed to be mega! Cheers!

My local dealer (Pearce cycles, Ludlow) has a demo ohlins coil shock to fit an enduro.

Cheers for the replies! Is it right that only Ohlins do a coil that fits? I know Specialized have wierd shock sizing.

I ran a Vivid R2C coil on my 2017 Enduro. I had to use the Bike Yoke adapter to fit it. Improved the bike enormously and felt way better than the Monarch

Yeah get the bikeyoke which then needs a 200x57 shock (I think) so makes it easier to source any aftermarket shock.

Allowed me to fit an X2 without having to buy a new one with the specific specialized fitment.

As mentioned, waaaay better than the monarch that comes as standard which is pretty poor.

If you get a bikeyoke you can get a "high" or "low" version, the high version keeps the angles as is, the "low" version slackens the HA by 0.5 and lowers the bottom bracket.

Exactly like it does on the 2018 Enduro flipchip.

I got a low, you can tell the difference a little and it hasn't made any noticeable impact on pedal strikes.

Sweet. I take it if I didnt get the bike yolk I could only fit the Ohlins shock? Dont know if that would work out cheaper in the long run? Anyone got any experience of the Ohlins coil?

No idea if it will fit but I just put a Cane Creek Coil IL on my Norco range - feels great and is also light - only 10g heavier than the air shock it replaced. Plus it has the climb switch, which works so much better than the open / firm options you see on other shocks.

So long as you buy an Enduro yoke fitment one (has a block at the end rather than a the O fitment), you can get Ohlins shocks for non-specialized bikes.
