I'm thinking about getting a Camber as my first foray into into the wonderful world of 29ers.

Is it worth getting the carbon frame over the Alu, or is the carbon just there to add a bit of bling to the range ?

Well it's only the front triangle that's carbon so it will be a bit lighter but not by much . I would go for it because it has Shimano gears and mech rather than Sram on the Alu . Think it's nicer looking as well. It is £500 more expensive so that's a decision only you can make .Before some smart arse comes along I am assuming the Comp vs Carbon Comp , I know there is a £1500 alloy version and a £3000+ carbon version also.

The carbon has a fairly massively over sized front triangle (I have one) which makes it very rigid but oddly (mines a 2012) it has a QR fork not a bolt through which is odd (plus they have swapped to RS and I think that the Fox isa better fork). The Alu rear end is bolt through though. The carbon frame also has nice dropper post integration.

I can't say that the OS front triangle and lighter weight makes a big difference - I just got a very good deal on mine.

I'd probably go for the Carbon and get the fork lower upgraded to a bolt through.

BTW. It rides great!
