Does anybody know where online I can buy these from as I can not find them and don't think they are available in the UK?

Thanks for any help

What does the 'control' bit mean?

I know it is some kind of 'feature' of Specialized tyres, but can't remember what.

Anyway - you can get normal (non-control) Butcher tyres from a few places after having a quick look on Google shopping:

Control means it is a lighter casing for trail use and not DH or freeride like the normal one and the SX.

The butcher control looks very good with size between minion DHF 2.35 and 2.5, rubber is between super tacky and maxpro and the design has a proper shoulder like a high roller with a minion type centre.

It just looks very right so want to try one on the front. ๐Ÿ™‚

Looks a really great tyre but Specialized UK aren't bringing them in this year - baffling! DH and FR versions are heavier and slower rolling...

I emailed Specialized UK today about it an await the response. Sounds like it will be the same as the request for a carbon enduro frameset... ๐Ÿ™

They ignored me completely when I asked about importing Clutch Controls.

The only all only tyre now listed in the "all mountain" section on the Spesh UK website is the Purgatory ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™„
Glad I got a pair of Eskars in the EBC sale at Xmas.

Booo!

Hate you Spesh! The Butcher Controls look perfect. I love my Minions and the compound on the Butchers looks perfect, decent weight, Minion sort of tread pattern and a bit cheaper.

Yeah I checked late last year and they won't even let their overseas stores export them to the UK, and as their supply chain is tied in so tightly to their stores you can't get them via Jenson USA / etc.

I assume they'll sell them (and the clutch control) in 2013 when they officially stop selling the eskars (which have already been stopped being made so are rare now [edit] and sold out already? ๐Ÿ™ ). They tend to do this, immediately stop certain products, everyone moans, then the year after they have to restart production / sales.

p.s. using bonty FR4's, pricier but better than the eskars

That's how I got my Clutches... Enduro buyers taking them off unused and replacing them with something worse ๐Ÿ˜‰

Specialized UK replied that there has been a delay getting new lines of tyres but hope to have new items in July. They did not say which models these would be.

try the Specialized Concept Store in Covent Garden, London (run by Cycle Surgery)

the manager has been successful in sourcing lots of irregular (i.e. non UK Specialized stock) for his customers through his buying team..
