there seem to be 2 versions - a narrow pair and normal.....guessing the normal ones are for big club hands and the narrow for xc types?

What robbo1234biking said. They're much more comfy than cylindrical ones for me. Haven't tried the Ergons.

I've got them on a couple of bikes. I've found that they don't really suit me on mountain bikes, but are great on touring/commuting set-ups.

I have them and the Ergon. Infact I have a near enough brand new set of the Specialized version for sale now that that particular bike has been commisioned for turbo duties only.
They have the bronze lockrings. £10 posted if anybody is interested?
I find both types feel identical and incredibly comfortable. Even on technical sections, they just feel right.
