Take it the brake levers / shifters will foul the top tube?

If you have a spill, it would leave a nasty mark 🙁

Looks nice tho............

Steve, don't know mate, fitted my giant with 30mm of spacers, the hello with even more space. I'm assuming you're OK interested in buying?

Alan, no fouling mate currently, if it does I will fit the risers again.

Thinking of getting a spearfish, but can't afford new forks so I'd have to check.

Good old CRC got the part to me bright and early...

So, i rekon i'm happy with that... However i'm prepared to bow to the knowledge of the forumites.... but looks appropriate to me.

I accept i've got no spacers, therefore no room for adjustment, it's just one of them things, i'll improvise using higher/lower/longer/narrower bars i guess...

What say the masses ?

Looks fine. You'll only know if you can't get rid of that rattly headset feeling.

LOL it was orange on purpose. I was torn between the orange and the black.... Orange works IMO.

Sadly, someone who mentioned the bars fouling the top-tube on full turn was correct, so i'll be fitting the risers before trip..

This thread makes me spearfish-curious.

Be sure to post up how you like it, and what bikes you're comparing the ride to.

of course you can take it too far and forget a downtube and get the seat angle all wrong. Oh., and fit the drivetrain the wrogn side of the frame.

Black stem with Orange bars might have worked.......

Having 2 shades of Orange so close, they really need to match.

IMO Of course 🙂

Bars hitting the top tube you say.....

http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/skean---frame-protector-protect-the-toptube-of-your-bike-from-the-bar-hits-1839-p.asp

I have fitted these to my bikes where the top tube is at risk. Small price to pay to protect a lovely frame.

And just to clarify... Those are not my legs in the picture.

Oh and the spearfish frames... We're £1000, now a remarkable £640 ish... http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/salsa-spearfish-29er-full-suspension-frame-692-p.asp

Just splurged a little cash out and bought a Renthal 32T chainring as it's only ever going to run single ring and a SLX SGS Shadow + rear mech in a medium cage. My rear mech is 18 months and 2000+ miles old, so may as well treat the bike.

LOL i'm in work mate, start work at 7am. So was obviously dark when i left the house.

Promise i'll get some pics tonight when i get home, even if i have to bring into the kitchen, i want to give the bike a quick test anyway in the road to check geometry, seat position and handlebars comparing to the risers.

Fox float 32 F100 / 15mm maxle
XTR Bottom bracket mounted in PF converters to standard BB.
Rockshox Monarch
SLX 10 speed shifter
Shimano full lenght gear cable.
Deore cranks running a 32T
SLX cassette 11-36
SRAM generic chain
Superstar XCR-st chainguide
Funn fatboy riser bars
Hope Headset
Ragley stubbing stem
Well B-54 pedals
Giant lock-on grips
Salsa seatclamp
Charge Spoon

To be fitted : SLX shadow+ rear mech. Renthal 32T chainring.

[IMG] [/IMG]

Riding the bike in the street, i'm VERY happy with how it rides... it's a lovely bike/shape/position. However, i've swapped the bars off from this photo to risers due to issues hitting the top-tube of frame with the bottom of shifter. I'll decide on Thurs (working from home) which set of bars i prefer to ride with and set accordingly.
