Hi, just got some new slippers, shimano ME701s, looking for some new pedals too. Anyone recommend some mid sized platform clipless ones. Currently on a pair of 5 year old M535s, which are r running well with little maintenance. Was thinking Saints or Horizon CS, are they a good match for the ME701s? Cheers

I'm happy with Horizon.

If they say Shimano on them, you can't go wrong for spd's.

I used Shimano for many years, switched to horizon now and they’re fantastic. Got a set of the big ones on the enduro and the mid size on the trail.

Still got xt’s on the race bike but for a platform pedal the horizons are really good.

I’ve got the bigger of the 2 horizon platform spd models and with shimano am7’s they are brilliant so far. I did have some more cross country shimano shoes before the am7’s and I found clicking in quite hard as the sole was too chunky.

I’ve the bigger of the Horizon CS on my milkfloat and I think they’re really good. They could do with a rebuild after 2k miles but fortunately all the parts are easily available.

I use the Shimano multi release cleats on FiveTen shoes and run the pins long.

I'm thinking about ease of clipping in with the chunky tread on the ME7s.
Need to make sure I can still clip in with a bigger platform. AM5 and the 5/10 seem to have quite a flat sole.
Any views on this?
