if so, are they worth a punt
Hi ton,
I had the previous generation, non-boost wheelset. I think they were oozy trail EVO (26mm width) on my old stumpjumper 29er. I loved them. They never needed truing, survived Alps trips with no issues and even the freehub made a nice noise! Noisy but not as loud as hope.
On my current 29er hardtail I have hope hubs with the Oozy Trail 295 rims (29mm width) and again I love them. They are stiff, strong and look great. They replaced some Arch EX rims and the finish and paint quality on the spank rims is way better.
Definitely recommend.
6'4" and 15 stone if that helps at all?
Also got some Oozy Trail 295 rims on my Meta AM. No complaints at all, went up tubeless a doddle. Had some Flow EX on my old bike and these seem at least as good.
cheers gents. they look sturdy, and are comparable price wise to hope hoops.
suppose I could buy some of the rims and get em built onto my hope hubs?
I have a two sets of Spank wheels in old fashioned 26 flavour. I think I had the first version of the Oozy wheel set and was very impressed buy it. It took a real good battering for its weight used it for everything from XC rides to DH and the odd jump park stuff. Eventually I dinged the rim enough to need replacing, I was going to keep the hub and spokes as they were running absolutely fine but CRC had a stupid offer on a new version of the Oozy wheel set so I went for that instead.
Been running spank rims for years and they've never even blinked. Been on various bikes and never tried them after first build or had to touch them, my first choice in rims.

Definitely an option but the hubs, bearings etc in the standard wheelset were pretty good from what I remember and lasted well. The wheelset I bought also came with the adaptors for different axles. Not sure if they still do?
no issues from my 2 year old spank oozy 295 trail bead wheel set. if I was buying again I would get DT swiss ex 1501 wheels or the ex471 rims and get them built up.
