Ok, so I might have left a hydration pack a bit damp, since Kielder last year but most of it has come up fine with a quick scrub. The bite valve has some stuff growing in it that will not scrub out, at all. So seeing as I dont like Southern Comfort that much the bottle has been cracked and the valve is soaking. How long will it need to be sterile then?
Or does anyone want to swap an almost full bottle for a cheap bladder, at Kielder on Friday?
Splsh of bleach in a mug of water - leave bite valve to soak over night. Rinse well. Jobs a good un.
Milton or other baby bottle sterilising liquids are the preferred choice for the more organised.
Or just nuke it for 30 seconds in the microwave.
VWP steriliser from a homebrew shop is very good stuff, and cheap as well. Very safe on plastics and rubber.
I'm not sure how good it would be as a steriliser.. it's very sweet and sickly and sticky.. and I'm guessing that it's full of germs 'cos it always makes me very sick..
Baby is too big for Miltoning stuff and I can't find the tabs anyway, no bleach or that would have gone in. Do have microwave though. Microwaved in the Southern Comfort or not? ๐
Dont use floor cleaner...did that with mine, worked a treat but can't get rid of the lemon fresh taste!
Looking for a solution I have in the house ideally, time pressed but usually use baby bleach tabs. Good point about it making you sick though, that is why I don't have it any more. Out of the frying pan, into the fire?
Any bicarbonate of soda kicking around?
a solution of that should work OK
Had thought about floor cleaner but ruled that out as perhaps a bit harsh to drink? Was actually soaking in bicarb overnight anyway, so I might live ๐
