[#2696803]

I have a backlog of friends and relatives bike to fix but most of them are short of a bolt or two. for instance 2 5 35mm bolts would solve the downtube mounted gear lever dilemma and an M5 bolt would also solve the rounded brake cable bolt issue on a set of road calipers

Is there anywhere you can buy small quantities of bike related bolts etc?

I presume bike shops build up a stock of odds and sods from old components that come of customers bikes?

Aluminium bolts are very weak, I'm not sure I'd want an alu bolt in a front brake caliper!

If you do want to go down that route then Pro Bolt are very good. If you just want steel bolts then any decent motor factors or similar should be able to help.

Do you actually want aluminium allow? The ones you quote are usually steel.

You will have a fasteners supplier somewhere near you - they should sell them and there are many places on the net - tastynuts (!!) is one name with a decent rep IIRC

You were quite right the ones I need are stainless. Any Tasty nuts looks like they have everything I need so I am sorted.

Many Thanks

LBS usually does the job for me. They stock stainless, not a case of odds & sods but there for jobs such as you describe.
