Not quite sure what your looking for really, it's not going to be much different from the current one as they've stuck with the same geometry. If you get the maxle it'll be stiffer on the rear end. The tapered head will make the front end slightly stiffer (doubt i personally would be able to notice this) and the new 30.9 seat tube can accomodate a crank bros dropper post and you can use an iscg chain guide if you wish.
It will be the same predictable single pivot ride that people are hugely divided on with the five on here, i'm a fan but i won't be rushing out to sell my current five to fund a new one. The one big difference you can make straight from orange for 2011 is a ccdb £400 upgrade, that will dramatically improve the ride.
The one interesting strange 5 feature that didn't make the production line was the 18" length with 16" standover - now that i would have been interested in but guess they didn't want it to be too much of a playbike as it would possibly then tread on the toes of the blood and alpine 160.

Fair enough chris, didn't mean to be funny in my reply, if you haven't ridden one then i suggest you demo one - if you can't get a 2011 then demo a 2010 at least as that will ride very similar with the 2011 model just ever so slightly better.
If you like the prophet you should love a five. Another one to throw into the mix if your looking new is a sc heckler as they have been reduced to £900 frame only and also get good reviews.

i don't like the look of the heckler, i like the look of the moto 1 but its about 4k! yeh the lbs told me they can get hold of a demo bike 2011 in a few week so i told em id rather demo a new one rather than the old, even he said theres not much difference between the two but stil i want to demo the new 🙂

Had a 16" 5 out today on demo from Orange/Bike Scene Guisborough. Did a ride from Wath in Nidderdale along the road & up to Middlesmoor, over the top & down to Scar House, over the dam, hung a left then a right & onto the Nidderdale way then basically followed the b/way along there with a sweet d/h at the end back to Wath. Anyone who's ridden this route will know why I went there to test the bike.
I think the bike I rode today was actually made by Ronseal, It did exactly what it said on the tin, plus a bit more. I found the pro-pedal & fork lockout worked well on the tarmac climb to Middlesmoor, very little bob at either end & 'appeared' to be no more effort than on the h/t. Having said that I would've liked to have hopped onto the h/t halfway up to do a proper comparison. Next was the incline over to Scar House. What can I say, 'comfortable' probably, had a sweat on but it was sunny & 22 degrees. Then came that loose switchbacky d/h which I didn't go crazy on as it was the 1st d/h I'd tried & (the bike's in a photoshoot on Tuesday apparently, didn't want to bust it, or me, as I'm at work on Monday) Onto the Nidderdale Way next & as you ALL know, parts of it is like riding on marbles, well today it still felt like riding on marbles, but that's the N/W for you. So far along there's a descent followed by a loose & very steep climb which I've never managed. I've always lost either gription (do you like that?) or steering or lungs/legs. I looked at it & thought, 'no....chance', as I started climbing i could feel the front end coming up so moved forward a tad, still gripping. Got a bit steeper so i moved forward a bit more, still digging in. This went on until i had a mild heart attack & my knees exploded. I was astonished at how much gription there was without compromising the steering. I still didn't manage the climb but at the tender age of 53 I'm not really arsed. Now It's dead straightforward to the descent into Wath & when I get there I'm thinking, 'bollox to this, I'm off'
I have never gone as fast & felt so safe on a bike in 21 years of riding offroad.
I'll be ordering one from Craggsy tomorrow.
