Wondered if someone could recommend somewhere just over the border (I'm in Scotland) for an overnight then some riding the next day. I'm thinking somewhere purpose built! Not got a clue where to go but I fancy somewhere different.

Whinlatter near Keswick is not far over the border if it has to be purpose built.
I always enjoy it round there but then you also have the whole of the Lake District to play in. Plenty of natural trails around Keswick, Borrowdale Bash, Tour of Skiddaw etc if you fancy following a route map.
Cheers for that. I was also looking at Grizedale there, is that on a par with one of the stanes in terms of riding? Wondered if I could link up Whinlatter and Grizedale say in the one day.
grizedale is very boring, do one of the classic lakes loops instead
