Ive managed to wangle a night away meeting my mate from Manchester, fitting in a couple of rides, and was wondering if any one had any ideas as to where, preferably not a trail park.Malvern sprang to mind but im really open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

I was going to suggest cannock chase (not quite equidistant, but in the middle), but you said no 'trail parks',
Only the locals/regulars will be able to tell you if the 'off piste' non signposted stuff is worthy of a meet point or not though

Peak District has some great riding and Hope/Ladybower area won't be too much out of your way

Hi, you should go to the Long Mynd! Head to the Shropshire Hills MTB Centre (www.mtb-shropshire.co.uk) there is free parking, free bike wash, bike shop, showers and they have free trail maps! If you wanted to stay they have heated camping pods too. Right next to the pub...
