Happy Solstice everyone. 🙋🏻♂️😎
Weather and temps look very reasonable all weekend..so get amongst it!
I'm riding the Goyt Valley this evening after work and bike is in the car ready to go. Some nice scenic hillsides and summits. Hopefully the wife'll let me off to Cannock as well on Sunday night.
Where you off?
Wales. Snowdonia somewhere. Maybe a dawn raid on the big 'un 🙂
London to Brighton off road tonight. Weather looks great for it.
Potter off up to Whitburn to watch the cricket, we're taking a pic-a-nic and they have ok beer at the bar there. It's looking good!

Did my solstice ride a day early, planning to put my feet up this eve. Lovely, didn't need the lights until after ten. Was up with the dog to see the sunrise this morning.
The Goyt Valley did not disappoint. Had a great ride and the sun was in full effect all night. One of those rides I could bare to end.
We travelled up to Lee Quarry last night for the PMBA Enduro. Hot and sunny already. Then its straight to the tunnel on Sunday night for the start of our holidays and the next round of the EWS in Italy.
Hope the weather stays good.
Club road ride. 200km to support the nutters doing a 500km 24hr ride.
Look out for Team Cystic Fibrosis on the roads in Yorkshire - ride is raising money for CF Trust.
Lovely ride around Bestwood Country Park; bit of XC, bit of bike park.
Dog walker stops me to ask how far I've ridden and can he lift my bike up. Lifts it by the tt near the saddle and says "balance is way off mate, you want to sort the shockers on that (pointing at the fork)" and walked off.
Last week's #dogwalkeroftheweek went straight from "lovely place isn't it?" to "watch out for foreigners, as they'll kill and eat the deer. And swans"
Pub for food and beers then to the top of the Goat Track for sunset/bivvy/sunrise

I'm supposed to be in the Lakes with my riding buddies, who all look like they're having a great time. I'm not there as I managed a silly little off last weekend, in which I'm pretty sure I've broken my little finger and hurt my wrist.
So as I can road ride with little/no pain, I've been out with the Mrs this morning and shall be out again tomorrow (whilst she's mtb'ing on the Mynd).
18 miles and 2400ft of climbing in Friston forest today.

I'd forgotten how long the fire road climb from the bottom is! Also found some awesome trails in the maze of trails there, proper fresh (still loads of seeds/debris on them so not ridden much) with steep switchbacks and tight bumpy rooty sections through the trees, with the odd short punchy climb. Would make an excellent enduro stage.
And I got annoyed with myself at chickening out of doing 2 of the 3 bomb holes, I 100% have the ability to do them, it's all in the mind, worrying about what would happen as I'm out on my own.
A jumps and drops session at UK bike skills will be booked very soon.
Basically 70 miles on a single speed fake gravel bike yesterday & working today
Mid ride refuel..

88Km and 1600m of climbing on a jaunt down the PBW to Widdop, worked our way over to Hebden Bridge then back via Midgley Moor, Ogden, a bit of the Bingley Bash then tootled along the canal heading back home. A lovely day (well just over half a day) out. Only saw about a dozen other mountain bikers during the entire ride.
Long mynd yesterday, cyb today, Nant y arian tomorrow. Watching the sunset in a nice campsite near machlynneth.
Had hoped for a sdw overnighter but life got in the way. I made do with Hertfordshire bliss.
And rocketdog’s rides always look ace.
😀
I don't have beer every ride, sometimes I go without on my commute
I'm not going to get out this weekend as we are desperately trying to get our van conversion sorted before we go to the Alps next week. However, I did get out for a quick mid-week road ride.
I don't know why but I really suffered with hayfever.
Just a local blast again for me

Cos I've been busy painting this
PSA for anyone considering Nant y Arian. Half of the decent stuff is shut. It looks like they are tarmacking it. 🙁
Second most interesting section is currently Legburner.
26 mile Gnarmac ride this afternoon, until I reached the end of the road... Literally.
I'm pretty sure it (saxon shore way) becomes an actual path again further on vs a peddle/sand beach but I was already at the point of needing to turn back.

Friday night was supposed to be up to Coniston Old Man to watch the sunset, but the late arrival of a riding buddy reduced it to Walna Scar. Stunning still.

Cracking Weekend.
Bikepacking round the Elan Valley. Got up 430 Sunday morning as daylight in the tent. Must learn how to post pics one day.
