http://m.thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-rechargeable-batteries/

Although I did not know Panasonic brought out sanyo. So they might just re brand the cells lots of fakes too (as is the norm with most things made anywhere near china) http://www.battery-force.co.uk have them for £7 for 4

Protected cells fit fine in the pannovo battery box, no need to worry.

Cheers!

Apologies for the delay for anyone who posted requests...

I've been waiting for wholesale prices for the battery box via Alibaba and never got a reply, sorry!

I have prices for efest batteries and chargers, but no boxes I'm afraid.

I've been looking around and the boxes seem to be out of stock on a lot of sites.

I got my box from e-bay, but had to wait for it to arrive from China.

Cost less than a tenner I think.

Womp:

What charger is that pictured on the previous page? I'm after something that charges to 4.1v as my DSD chargers do 4.2v which is too much for my Li-ion cells.

I placed a single order for a box off Ebay, but it's been that long coming, I don't think it actually is coming

stevemorg2 - depends on spec and quantities. I'll put a spreadsheet together and host it on Google docs or something

Hypnotoad (member) I'll put some cells on the charger and let you know

I shall also dismantle the XT40 soon as promised

I've done a few commutes now with the SSX2 and XT40 with the batt boxes, they are working great, I have 1 box with 4 3400mah cells running two SSX2's, the beam pattern on the XT40 is wider and shorter than the SSX2 so they complement each other nicely

If anyone is on the lookout for a battery box AND a new light, Fasttech are doing a SolarStorm XT40 light with an empty battery box for about £30 posted: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1527803 and use code BLF

This looks like it's worth a look if you don't need long run times (scroll down to the helmet battery case)

I've gone for the XT40 and box that kevin1911 linked above, so no longer in the group-buy for boxes.
Still interested in 8 off 18650 batteries though.
Any news on pricing for these TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsSTR?

I've ordered a battery box from kaidomain.com, however on checking their order system, it is now on back order. Got the batteries, got the charger, got nothing to put them in. Grrrrr.

Got one! As per earlier in this thread Sam puresystems@yahoo.co.uk has them for a tenner + 1 p+p. I was also contacted by swampi ( a member on this forum) who has a spare to sell if anyone else is looking.

@Jonwe Ive also got one on backorder but received an email from Kaidomain yesterday, Solarstorm are working on a new box, it's currently undergoing testing and should be available in the next few weeks, I'm pretty sure it's not bull as I've been told the same from another supplier.

Does anyone run these boxes with flat top cells or am I best to use button top?

I had no end of bother trying to cancel my order with Kaidomain, but succeeded in the end after telling them I'd just dispute the transaction with Paypal.

It is frustrating that they take so long to ship stuff, but when you consider the price of the stuff it's hard to complain. I got a quote from Royal Mail for the cost to send a light back to FastTech - it was £16, more than 50% of the price of the light itself!!

J273 - I'm hoping my battery box will arrive today, and I have flat batteries ready to go so I'll let you know!

kaidomain take forever, I ordered a light on the 10th and it still hasn't arrived.

At the tracking number now shows some progress, but still I'll think twice about using them in future.

As Dirtydog says, I had a couple of battery boxes on order from Kaidomain and got an email Monday saying they were shipped, likewise had an XT40 light with Batterybox on order from Fasttech and got notification it had shipped on Saturday inc a photo of the package. Seems like they are available again, happy days.

Received a mk2 box from kaidomain yesterday. Looks better quality. Rubber gasket on the lid. Blue lights to show charge level/voltage ( who knows no manual). Label suggests there are electronics to handle overcharging/over discharge built in. My favorite bit though is the cable spur with the usb connector - fully waterproofed box and light connector and an open usb socket to get filled with mud and short everything out. Nothing the old insulating tape can't fiixed of course.

The open USB socket is a work of genius on a waterproof product!

Pretty useful thing if it can keep a phone charged for really long GPSed rides though. I bought a separate ANKER battery for that purpose.
