You have incurred the wrath of Mumsnet ๐
Note: DH does not mean downhill
People laugh at you on here if you post links to Mumsnet!
Saw that earlier today, presumably she's been told to LTB?
STW - male neurosis.
Mumsnet - female neurosis.
The replies seemed rather balanced, not even a mention of a trip up the oxo towers.
What's DP in mums net speak ?

DH - dandy horse .
Well they're a trusting and well balanced lot aren't they? Being friends with a woman is clearly tantamount to an "emotional affair".
I had to laugh at the woman who said that if she was trying to seduce someone, she wouldn't let him see her "sweating in cycling clothes with a tightly padded gusset" ๐
I had to look up YABU and YANBU
๐
My mate posted a pic on Strava of an unknown cycling buddy this morning...I may need to investigate.
I've been out riding with a female friend today. But I'm female. Am I having an emotional affair?
Is confused.
MrsMc has declared that she knows I'm not having an affair when I set off to ride in the morning, as "no woman could find that attractive".
Very supportive, my wife ๐
She's obviously never considered the possibility that he could be gay/bi and worried about him cycling with male friends.

Ok at the risk of getting into an actual mumsnet debate: going cycling and out for the odd lunch sounds fine - going for lunch regularly, cycling together regularly and going out for the day sightseeing does sound a bit weird.
Agrees with grum.
Sightseeing. That's wroner than a wrongery.
I have cycled with female friends, spent a day with them and no shit, had lunch with them too. Mrs JAMJ couldn't give two hoots. If I spent all my time with any friend it would piss her off - male or female.
So, anyone else has the conversation that starts with "I've been chatting with this girl/woman on the Internet and we're going riding in the mountains"?

Perhaps they went to see the oxo tower.

if they are roadies then if they cycle somewhere they are probably going to look around so not really any issue there.

I ment when they arrive at their destination
Woooosh. ๐
What about no cycling, just beers & meals?
What about sleepovers? ๐
Is 'heavy petting' permissible?
^^ the 1950's called and I had to answer the door.

What's wrong with that? I have gone for meals/drinks with female friends without any thought that the other half would get pissed off. Mainly because we are both adults and not lumbered with 1950's sensibilities or riddled with insecurities.
It shouldn't matter if the cycling partner is male or female.
My other half does tango, other men put their hands on her waist and shoulder and look into her eyes. If you can't deal with stuff like that you probably shouldn't be in a relationship.
I recently spent the weekend staying with a very attractive 22 year old single female friend. My wife was cool with it - I think mainly cos she knows I'm so far out of her league that nothing untoward would ever happen. ๐
Pah - even plying you with expensive whisky got me nowhere!

Phew that's ok then, meet up once a month with female ex work mate for beers & meals, she does have a BSO though
Pah - even plying you with expensive whisky got me nowhere!
Oh, it appears I may have misread the situation. So you mean when you asked me if I wanted to come outside and check out your girth you weren't talking about the tyres on your fatbike?
If anyone wants to take me up the Chase, i'm free most days ๐
BSO
Bushy slippery orifice?
Had to start at the acronyms, I've learnt something new SPD isn't something you clip in!
SPD
symphisis pubis dysfunction
Going to have to google that
Acronyms cease to be useful when you need a whole page to explain them.
He's back . . .
"Well, he returned and said that her bike had had a fault, so they went for a walk in the countryside and had lunch out instead."
No [s]rice[/s] pudding for him, I guess.
Sounds like an issue, what type of bloke wastes a pass out not riding their bike ๐
Sounds like a gormless husband with no evil intentions swallowing a large baited hook cast by a designing single woman - or he's a right devious batard, in which case he's one of you lot...

Well done for convincing her of that ๐
The use of acronyms on Mumsnet really throws me, I presume DP is not what I think it is, is there some sort of guide?
NSFW Lookup??
They really should compare notes

It's the hipocracy on Mumsnet that amuses me.
If the roles were reversed they'd all be supporting the woman's right to have a male friend with whom to share a hobby.
All men are bastards on mumsnet. They're just seen as a cash cow half the time.
No wonder most of their husbands are viewing porn or shagging around.
It really is a backwards place.
