[#7568026]

After asking for advice on here about going to 1x setup I converted the bike this week. This morning I rode it.

I was converted straight away. The simplicity was great and I hadn't realised this would translate into increased 'flow'. Whether I put on an expander for endurance events time will tell.

So STW, cheers for the advice and converting me to a good thing...

Various companies now do 10 speed cassettes in a wider range.

@jambalaya - I decided to start with a 30t nw ring to make life easier when I'm six hours in, tired and trying to get up a hill...the lowest gear did feel slightly higher than before but not by much...I probably noticed it more at the top end when I was trying to hoof it on a downhill road section...

I see the other posts for wide cassettes..cheers..

@jambalaya - obviously totally unscientific, but I reckon it felt like my old 3rd gear...

Unscientific is good for me, thanks. I like the simplicity and cost savings I couldn't manage third as my lowest gear 😳
