Excluding building the wheels, about two hours and one nice bottle of merlot should see a bike built. no?
Yea, I've managed an Hour and a bit in a rush but 2 hours sounds about right
No more than an hour build and an hour tuning the radio, drinking the wine and trying to find the copper grease.

I'm seeing a bottle of merlot lying on its side, amongst tools & off cuts of cable. And a sleeping bloke, draped over a half built bike.
Nice comments, great vision takisawa. This was purely hypothetical, normally takes me an hour or so to "assemble" a bike, unfortunately it's gonna be a while before I have that sort of money.
Takes me longer than that... But it's such a nice way to spend time, kick back, relax. This thread is a bit like hearing a man boast about how little time it takes him to orgasm and fall asleep 😆
In the shop, from bike in box to bike ready takes about 30 minutes. If it's a pile of parts then it takes longer...
I'm just chuffed that I managed to perform my first bit of home fettlement EVER by cleaning my headset bearings whilst imbibing a nice cup of Scottish Blend tea in less than four hours.
It's still in pieces!

Time isn't a factor when I build a bike. I just keep going til I get it where I want it to be. Nothing short of perfect.
Otherwise, what's the point?

Putting some pre-built wheels into a frame & forks is just assembling a bike.
USing a rim, hub and psokes made by others is merely assembling too surely?
Start with some tubes and a welder. Is that building, or assembling?
I can build bikes, but if someone gave me an iron-ore mine and a rubber tree and told me to go ahead I'd be a bit stumped.
building a bike that fast sounds like a job, not a pleasure. But each to their own.
