It's only off a cheap carrera but I quit like it, had a slight misadventure and one of the prongs on the rail has popped out of the housing at the rear of the moulded saddle body.

A brief half hearted wrestle to try and pop it back in didn't work, the saddle body just seems too stiff, I couldn't get any 'give' in either the rail or saddle. so I'm just wondering what to do.

See if I can get a like for like replacement, or chance a new saddle, I know there are some quite highly rated ones that don't cost too much.

I'd try and get the rail back in its hole but a quick Google of this issue it seems like a difficult DIY job.

It seems undamaged other than a bit of a scuff and one of tth rails is now not in its hole.

Thanks, I was considering a charge spoon also, both look pretty similar in shape to what I've got.

Probably the same saddle, The spoon and a flux are the Same.
I'm pretty sure you can just pop the rail back in though if you try again

If you want to really have a go at it, put the popped-out rail in the seatpost clamp, and lever it around by the seat, that gives you the best chance. But almost certainly it'll come out again.

I think the saddle on my carrera was a Velo, they make loads... No guarantee it's the same saddle today, o'course but I replaced mine with a spoon and it felt pretty similiar. Both sort of generic normal saddles.

I'll have another go, there's a tiny amount of give in the rail, but it's still clamped onto the seat post, which I'm thinking is restricting a bit of give.. so if I take it off it may give me a bit more leverage in the rail, it's close, about 3-5mm I need to get it back in.

Superstar have Velo branded saddles for a tenner at the moment.
I've not tried one but might be worth a look.

Also this might work too:
MAYMAD25 to get a further 25% off.

Oh, I should have said- only put the popped-out rail in the seatclamp, leave the other loose. It's like a perfect vice.

I wrestled one back in once and it last years. Only took it off after the sound of it resuming was just too irritating on descents. It did require the use of a large vice, a large pair of molgrips, and the largest screwdriver I could find.

doesn't look hugely comfortable, but then I expect I have a different sized bottom to you.

As many have said above - a spoon or a flux tends to be popular for the mass number of bottoms on STW

I have one of those saddles, I think Amazon are price matching CRC. It's a road one and to be honest, alothough it's a personal choice, I'd steer clear - bit too stif for my road bike, would be punishing on an mtb.

I have a practically new cannondale saddle I'd post for £10. Probably a velo base and similar to what you have broken. Its white with black and blue lettering. Its off a cannondale synapse (2014 or 15 model).

Went for the flux in the end, I think it's exactly the same as my stock saddle apart from the trim!

They're all pretty similar to look at

.. the spoon and flux are the same saddle badged differently. I have the flux. Very happy with it. Especially with the thudbuster seat post.
