For 8 months of that I was working. For the rest of the time I was commuting 70 miles each way - that got in the way of biking a bit.

100 miles a day at the weekend and 40 miles/night - its not that much really.

nothing like enough miles (probably around 800-1000,but have suffered with depression so that is partly the reason.) have just got a new 2010 stumpy fsr comp bike though,so my new years resolution is to ride loads.unfortunately my nose is running like a tap today, but will keep to my resolution when it stops running. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ton - seriously. Couple of hundred miles every weekend and 40 odd per night - sometimes a lot more. I was training for something. 40 odd miles on the roadie is about 90-120mins at most.

In 2009 I did:

7062 km of exercise (4388 miles)
of which:
4957 km was on the bike
1326 km on unicycles
680 km walking in hills / mountains
97 km running

I also swam outdoors in a total of 18 different places in 3 different countries (UK, Italy and the USA), but I haven't tracked distance for that, as it makes no sense as a measure with the currents that you get in a lot of the places I swum. Oh and I seem to remember I've swum maybe 4 or 5 times in indoor pools this year too.

Joe (how nerdy is it that I have a record of all this?)

Davo - I'll repost that post too if you want me to. You don't know me so what makes you think that you know more about my riding habits than I do?

Just under 3000, but this year I hope for 10,000 just in recreational and training rides.

What event were you training for; the TDF. 40 miles in 90 min that's in excess of 26mph average. Impressive! I did 2500 miles.

From my Garmin Connect account:-
Count: 102 Activities
Distance: 1,830.21 mi
Time: 217:56:23 h:m:s
Elevation Gain: 206,610 ft
Avg Speed: 8.4 mph
Avg HR: 134 bpm
Avg Bike Cadence: 64 rpm
Calories: 135,109 C
Max HR: 197 bpm
Avg Elevation Gain: 2,026 ft

about 75% off-road, I'm feeling pretty disappointed and will be trying much harder this year. ๐Ÿ™

Depends on the tailwind and whether riding in a group or not surely. At the other end of the scale 2hrs for 40 miles is easy btw.

No idea. Didn't keep a log for the first time in 2009. Just went out and rode with my friends as often as I could/wanted to and rode to work quite a lot until it went all dark and cold. Someone, far wiser than me once said, "it's about the smiles, not the miles"

On the upside, as fit as I've been in a long time. Riding here and with people considerably better/fitter than me has made a huge difference. I just didn't feel the urge to write it down ๐Ÿ™‚

Davo - Are you jealous or something? You seem to have a problem with me - I'd suggest looking at yourself first.

Do you commute in a peleton? 26.7mph is still impressive in a group in my opinion.

Why would I need to think twice? Just because YOU couldnt fit it into YOUR life doesnt mean that I cant fit it into MY life. Brilliant riding from the door makes it easier.

Today I have done 30 miles on the bike. You?
